The Upper Peninsula

Our program takes place in a university town called Houghton, located on the Keweenaw Peninsula…which is located on the northernmost part of Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. If you look at a map, you’ll notice “the U.P.” is technically located above the state of Wisconsin, separated from the greater state of Michigan by Lake Michigan and Lake Huron.

The Keweenaw Peninsula (including Houghton and surrounding towns) overlooks the stunning views Lake Superior, and includes scenic landscapes and ample outdoor activities where residents can readily enjoy the nature that surrounds them.

The Rozsa Center for the Performing Arts sit atop a hill amidst the MTU campus, overlooking a picturesque view of the Portage Canal-a beautiful body of water that leads to the north entry of Lake Superior.
